What is collected, what is not, and what nobody can see — including us.
What a vote records
When you vote, two rows are written. One says a vote was cast and which answer it was for. The other says that YOU took part. The table holding your choice has no column for who you are, so no ordinary query — and no bug in a screen, an export or an API — can return your name beside your vote.
What that does NOT mean, said plainly
The two rows share a token, and today that token can be matched up inside the database by someone with full server access. So: an administrator, or a court order, could in principle work out how you voted. Nobody in the app can, and no query we run does — but this is protected by how we build and operate, not by mathematics. We would rather say that here than let you believe something stronger than the truth.
Where it is going
The database is already shaped so that token can become a blind commitment that even we cannot match up — the same tables, the same columns, no migration of anyone’s existing vote. When that lands, the paragraph above stops being true and we will say so.
Your email
Used only to let you back into your account. It is never shown to anyone, never sold, and appears in no screen in this app. Only your @username is public.
Your voting history and saved votes
Visible to you alone. There is no setting to share them, because the code to publish them was never written. A privacy promise that depends on a switch staying off is not a promise.
Private groups
A vote posted to a group is readable only by its members, enforced by the database rather than by the app. Someone outside the group cannot see the question, the answers, the result, or that the group exists.
What we do not do
There is no advertising, no analytics SDK, no tracking pixel and no third-party service receiving your activity. Nothing about you is sold or shared for marketing.
Deleting your account
Settings → Delete my account removes your profile, your groups and your history for good. Your votes stay in the count, because there is nothing in them that identifies you and removing them would change results other people rely on.
We do not sell or share your data
No advertising, no analytics SDK, no tracking pixel, no third party receiving your activity. That one is absolute.
Your rights under GDPR
You may ask for a copy of your data, ask for it corrected, or delete it yourself from Settings. Data is stored in the EU (Frankfurt). Contact: team@popverdict.com.
